Day 5

Friday-

Today all of my classes were canceled because unfortunately the University's priest, Father Tom passed away on Wednesday from cancer. Their was a service for him and the overflow of people were in the theater where they video broadcasted the service onto the large projection screen in the main theater. The whole day of classes was not canceled however ones between 9 and 11 were and thats where my classes are except Algebra, but she canceled because she wanted to keep the two section that she taught together.

I did however have my first forum in our black box, forum is time where we all meet and either a professor or group of students will explain several production things that are going on or will talk about experience over the summer. David, my text analysis teach went to China this summer and he will be telling us about his trip. Today we actually were informed of practicum assignments, when we were going to meet what the expectations are etc. I am in the electrics practicum, more specifically hanging and focusing lighting, which is great becasue my production assignment and practicum will be taken care of simultaneously.

The rest of the afternoon (practicum met at noon), actually I went back to my room at took an hour nap, the life of college student is tiring! I then got some help with my math homework from Eric, the genius himself.
I worked on it outside of the student union, I only have so many nice day left this year and its nice to utilize these times! Algebra and it ridiculously long assignments may become the bane of my existence I shall let you know if it does.

After I ate with my my friends, a bunch of theater kids, thier friends, and Rose my roommate who tagged along. (As an aside you can always tell where theater kids sit because the tables are always to small and there are at least 4-5 extra chairs pulled up.) Some of us went adventuring towards the river and we found a really neat walking path, park and bandshell (YEA another bandshell, well its not quite a shell but it is close) We also found a cool little night market in the middle of town. They have a town square, open grassy area, with a covered open air section. We also found a record store (with actual records) with so much great music except for what they were playing on the store speakers. I was particular entertained when a mother brought in her two small girls (8-11) and they were speaking in tween squeak " we need to find SHAKIRA" I was unaware that little girls knew who shakira is.

So until tomorow:
